A heart of service

If it is unacceptable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. [Joshua 24 :15]

My dear Father in heaven, Jehovah Qanna - our Jealous God

I come before you today filled with deep gratitude. I thank you for all you are doing and have done for me in my life, for going before me and for granting me divine protection. Today I lift my prayers up to the heavens, and I decree and declare that as for me and my house, we will serve the one true living God.

I speak to the posture of our hearts. I ask that they may be right and not found wanting in your eyes oh God. That you will prune our hearts that we may bear more fruit. I decree and declare that we will be used as servants of the Most High. That we will be Kingdom builders and messengers as we partner with you to make the kingdoms of this world the Kingdom of our God.

I come against any ungodly altars that were raised by our ancestors. Wicked altars that were built to serve other gods. I command such altars to break in the spirit in the name of Jesus. I go to their root and I uproot them in the name of Jesus. I shut right now in the name of Jesus the mouths of any spirits and beings connected to such wicked altars that may attempt to speak over our lives oh God. For who is it that speaks a thing and it comes to pass when the Lord has not commanded it? I enter the realm of the spirit and I shatter any ancestral strongholds in the mighty name of Jesus.

I declare in accordance with Matthew 5 : 16, that our light , which is the light of God, will shine before others, that they may see our good deeds and glorify you in heaven Lord. That in accordance with 2 Corinthians 6 : 8, we will serve you God whether people honour us or despise us, whether they slander us or praise us. For our treasures are stored not here on earth but in heavenly storehouses. My Father, I pray for strength even as we care for the flock that you will entrust to us. I stand on your word in 1 Peter 5 : 2 to declare that we will watch over it willingly, not grudgingly – not for what we will get out of it, but because we are eager to serve you God.

I decree and declare that in accordance with Romans 12 : 11, we shall not be lazy but we shall work hard and serve you enthusiastically Lord. That in accordance with the parable of the talents in Matthew 25, we shall be as the servant with the 5 talents, to whom much more was added because he was faithful with the little. May your Kingdom profit from my house oh God, in the mighty name of Jesus.

I cover our bodies with the blood of Jesus. Father, standing on your word in Romans 6 : 13 I decree and declare that no parts of our bodies shall become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, we will give ourselves completely to you God, for once we were dead, but in you we have new life. We will use our whole bodies as instruments to do what is right for the glory of God.

As for me and my house Father, we will never serve two masters. Your word tells us in Matthew 6 : 24 that to do so would mean to hate one and love the other; to be devoted to one and despise the other. I am confident that you will bless us abundantly oh Lord, for your gifts are good and perfect and it is your wish that your children should prosper. And so I say that we will never serve both you and money, but we submit ourselves unto you Lord.

I stand on your promise to us Father in Hebrews 6 : 10. For scripture says that you are not an unjust God. That you will not forget our work and the love that we have shown you as we help and continue to help your people. That as we serve you faithfully, we shall reap the good which we sow, good measure pressed down shaken together and running over.

I speak now to the spirit of my future husband. I ask Father that even in our home, he will be a man with a heart of service. A heart to serve his wife and children. I ask that he may never be one who serves the wider community and forgets his primary assignment, that of his home. I pray that even as he serves you oh Lord, that he will understand how to strike a balance. That the foundations of our home will forever remain strong and unshaken. Guide him oh Lord, bless him with a heart to make his wife and children happy, a heart to treasure us dearly for we are your good and perfect gifts to him.

All glory and honour shall return to your name oh Lord.

For it is in Jesus mighty name I pray and believe,

Amen.
